Had I been going there for birds like I used to, it would have been earlier, like 5:30 or 6 am! But even during this 8-10 am best time for butterflies, I saw a lot more than 3 birds, but this is all I photographed on Calle Nueva that morning, plus the Yellow-faced Grassquit (May 15 Post) in the cow pasture as I was getting back home. 🙂 Here’s the three other birds I got photos of on that nearby dirt road . . .

Hearing from my Blog Readers
My website host monthly report continues to tell me that I get about 2,000 “hits” on my blog or website each month and occasionally I hear from some of those many readers either with a “Comment” at the bottom of a post or an email through the CONTACT page of the website and occasionally in person, as was the case last week when one of the blog readers was in Costa Rica for both a vacation and to buy a house here in Atenas where the couple will be moving very soon. Rob was with my driver, Walter, who called me on his phone through WhatsApp and then let Rob speak with me. Rob was born in Memphis while I was living there and the next year after my son was also born in Memphis. Plus he graduated from Ouachita University 22 years after I graduated from there and he lived in New Mexico near some of my favorite places there (which he had read about on my website including having eaten at “Bobcat Bite” hamburger joint near Glorieta)! Small world! 🙂 And I look forward to visiting with him and his wife once they move here. (A lot more U.S. citizens are moving here now!) 🙂
Also last month I heard from many other readers, including another one considering a move here, plus several Costa Rica readers including one who asked how to get to a place I have written about! (Many Ticos tell me that I’ve seen more of their country than they have!) 🙂 As well as contacts from old friends all over the States. THANK YOU FOR READING the blog and for the contacts! It makes me feel like the blog may be serving a purpose beyond just me sharing my nature photography! 🙂 ¡Pura vida!
Yes, your readers enjoy your photography and “creature ID.” Reading your posts is educational and I enjoy learning about your adopted country.
It is also worthy to your followers when you update us on your health. Because you are loved and respected – we care. So, from time to time, take more pictures of yourself and let us know about health issues.
In case you haven’t heard, our friend, Tommy Dixon, passed away Saturday.
It’s always a delight to read your daily posts when we start each day. Keep writing, keep “shooting” because we enjoy reading what you are experiencing and seeing those things captured by your camera.
Thanks Larry!
For being one of my most faithful readers and a great old friend in TN! Thanks also for the update on Tommy, which I had not heard yet. I mostly keep up with LifeWay deaths through the retiree newsletter. I guess you could say we are all approaching that moment. 🙂
I am basically in good health with just the usual aging complaints or “malfunctions,” 🙂 and enjoy a simple life here focused on God’s beautiful nature in a wonderful and peaceful little tropical country!
