I’m back home for awhile and one of the first contrasts with the big city was the green field across from my house, seen here at ground level . . .
And online I found a poem that expresses some feeling of my front yard “green field,” though I would never lay down in this one with the cow patties and snakes! 🙂

It’s not the corn in the musical “Oklahoma!” but the grass in the cow pasture across from me is as high as my eyes now, thanks to the regular rains! That’s why some call this time of year “The Green Season.” And the cows are mostly eating around the edges of the pasture. 🙂

After the scary post yesterday afternoon I wanted everyone who reads blog to know that the wonderful firemen (bomberos) put the fire out with rakes, hoes, machetes and shovels (had no water).
I came back after dark and all was okay last night. Most of the smoke was blown away by the high winds but still no internet, thus delay in report until this morning (Tuesday). Then internet was out again before I could add the above photo until afternoon. Both the electric company and the cable company have had several trucks out here all day. Right now all is good
This is the bad part of the “Dry Season” that the tourists like so much – fires! Rainy Season starts in May and some of us call it the “Green Season” which to me is prettier and more enjoyable! And I don’t have to water the gardens! 🙂

My gardeners were here today and halfway through their work we sat down together on my terraza as they call it (my tiled deck) or patio for water, root beer and cookies, chatting in Spanish with my limited understanding but great enjoyment! In addition to the regular chores, they climbed up my Nance Tree and trimmed out the top with a machete. It had grown so much that I had lost nearly half my vista which is now opened up. They had already done that to the Yellow Bells Trees on the left and they too will need it again soon it appears. And in two weeks they are going to plant an Elephant Ears plant in my back garden where something else died. What a joy to have gardeners!
