My 2 Favorite Birds Today
I’m seeing a lot more birds here than at home these days and I got photos of only one butterfly today here at the hotel. 🙂 The butterfly garden I was to visit has closed – not enough tourists! Much of tourism has been similarly hurt by the two-year pandemic. So I explored more around here and pleased with all my several bird shots, but especially these two, one of which is a “lifer” or first-time seen bird for me, the Brown Noddy, a rare seabird on the hotel beach. And though I’ve seen lots of Common Black Hawks, I’m particularly pleased with this shot and some other similar shots before he flew off. They don’t always pose for you like this! 🙂

Breakfast Color
These 4 species of birds were finding their breakfast as I ate mine on the patio of Hotel Banana Azul in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica this morning. How fortunate I am to live and travel in such a beautiful, peaceful little country! ¡Pura Vida!

Tarcoles Catch-up Photos
On March 24, our first night at Manuel Antonio, we had a slow internet connection and I only shared one beach sunset photo. Here’s a few of many from our stop on the Tarcoles River enroute to beach.

This was my third time on the Tarcoles River and we always see and photograph more than 20 species of birds along with the promoted crocs and usually basilisks and iguanas plus some other lizards. That night I got lots of different kinds of beach sunset photos. Here’s one more I just have to show:

I was asked to take a friend of a friend birding today (Friday). I gave several choices and he chose Tarcoles River because of the closeness for a day trip (in his rent car). I have dozens of photos to show and will continue tomorrow. Above is a special one you don’t have the opportunity for very often, watching a bird catch a fish!
