I Pray for America Today

And more specifically I pray that a huge majority of you will vote in opposition to the lying, hateful, racism that is destroying what used to be a great country. Your future as a country and your place in the world is at stake tomorrow.

When you lie down among the sheepfolds, You are like the wings of a dove covered with silver, And its pinions with glistening gold.      ~Psalm 68:13

Photo is of a Homing Pigeon in Alajuela this week. Beautiful and with a better map memory than humans. It’s the closest bird photo I have to a dove with glistening silver and gold!   🙂

POST SCRIPT:     Based on the response to this post by my friend Leo (below) I am going to try to leave politics out of this blog in the future and just talk about my retirement in Costa Rica, the purpose of the blog. I apologize to anyone I offended and will try to keep this blog about my retirement here in Costa Rica. I’ll save politics for Facebook, though I don’t use it as much now.

  1. Thanks for praying for America. We need it. I attended a meeting where the mayor of Franklin was introduced to the group. He stood and decried what is happening in our country. He said, “Stop the hate, heal the division.” I thought, we need more politicians like that. I love the Psalm Scripture passage you included in your blog.

    1. Thanks Larry. I have decided to post no more political opinions and I’m thinking about removing this one. See the comment below byf Leo, a friend on the CR Relocation Tour who lives in the Pensacola area and has been a big Trump fan. I don’t want to be the one to fan the fires of anger. I may delete the post.

  2. Charlie…I thank you for the many hours of pleasurable reading your blog has given me. I will be unsubscribing today. You have a right to your opinion but I question using a blog on “Pura Vida” to push your political agenda. I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I just don’t want to read about it in a retirement blog.

  3. Thank you for your wisdom. I sure understand you living elsewhere, with the damage that’s being done to the humanity of our country by the current administration and their supporters who seem to have lost all sense of morality and compassion. Jim Jones would be proud.

  4. Touche Leo! You are right that this retirement blog is not the place for politics and I have hereby stopped posting such things in the future. I do have mixed emotions about not expressing my feelings, even political ones, yet I do not want to add to the anger in our country. I am sorry that I offended you. I may save such things for Facebook which is already an offensive mess! 🙂
